2” Faux Wood Blind Comparison Tips

November 5th, 2010

Not all 2” faux wood blinds are created equal.  If you are looking for the best quality and value here are the product considerations that you should focus on.

Number of ladders that support the slats; Lesser quality products have thinner slats that require more ladders to support them and prevent sagging, creating more obstructions to your view and the cleaning rag.

Quality of slat; Higher quality slats will be warranted against yellowing, fading, twisting, warping and chipping for life.

Quality of headrail components; Lesser quality blinds will have more plastic componentry or low quality metal components with burrs and imperfections that will put stress on the cords that run through them.  Ask to see the components inside a headrail for comparison between different products.

Cord Warranty;  All cords will wear out.  Every company warrants their cords for different periods of time.  Lesser quality brands for 1 year.  High quality brands, such as Hunter Douglas, for 7 years.
