Educated Clients are our Best Clients – Beware False Tax Credit Promises
August 20th , 2010
This week found our crews installing Hunter Douglas “Architella” honeycomb shades in Aviston, Smithton and Kirkwood, MO. A word to the cautious shopper who is looking into buying this popular and highly energy efficient window treatments eligible for the 2009-2010 $1,500 tax credit. Buyer beware…..there are more than a few people selling budget window treatments credited with their ability to meet the Energy Star ratings necessary to earn the tax credit. Make sure you see the paperwork to back up their claims before you sign a contract. An Installation Services reliable vendor should be able to provide this for you. If you are considering a double cell or triple cell shade from another manufacturer instead of the “Architella”, request the r-value data from all competing manufacturers to help you make a more educated decision about the value of your potential window treatment but be careful to make sure that the R-value rating that you receive reflects the value of the shade itself without the window system behind it. Only in this way can you compare apples to apples. More than one company is including the window in the r-value for their shades. At Eye on Design, we offer cellular shades from Graber and Levolor for our more budget conscious clients. We would welcome the opportunity to educate you on the advantages and disadvantages of the different cellular shades available so that you can make an educated decision.
