Eye on Design “Project Renew” Window Treatment Recycling Drive at Althoff a Terrific Success!

Today we collected approx. 400 lbs. of window treatment at our community drop off point in Belleville, IL.  A constant stream of vehicles delivered all types of window treatment including custom upholstered cornices, lined drapery, horizontal blinds, shutters, vertical blinds, drapery hardware and bamboo shades.

Approximately 70% is in good enough condition to be utilized by a local community outreach center to provide window treatment to local elderly residents on fixed incomes.  Some of these treatments will be hung in St. Louis in homes for the disabled.

The remaining 30% of our collection will be disassembled into piles of vinyl, steel and aluminum components for recycling leaving only a small portion for the local landfill.  Way to go Belleville!
