Window Treatment Recycling Program Created for St. Louis Metropolitan Region
August 6th, 2010
The Eye on Design “Project Renew” recycling program was approved for a pilot pick-up date by Mayor Eckert in Belleville, Illinois this week. With this program we can help the community of Belleville to recycle and re-purpose old window treatments and keep them out of local landfills. Althoff High School will host our first local pick-up station on Saturday October 9th. Bring us your old blinds, drapery hardware, top treatments and drapery. We will work hard to find disadvantaged citizens that can benefit from your gently used window treatment. For those items that have been worn thin, we will break them down to recycle or re-purpose the components.
Eye on Design met with the Violence Prevention Center of Southwestern Illinois to help them with additional window treatment at deeply reduced costs. Our roller shades will replace old drapery and sheets in the windows of rooms used by local women and children who need a safe place to stay. Consider the Violence Prevention Center for your donations of gently used toys, clothing and furniture.
This week we delivered beautiful new custom bedding to a Shiloh, IL home. A custom bedspread, lined bedskirt and a collection of custom pillows transformed the bed into a rich well-coordinated addition to a beautiful master bedroom suite.
